1. What is a cookie?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device through your browser when you visit a website. The browser’s local storage and session storage may be used for similar purposes. In this policy the word “cookie” covers all of these technologies.
2. How we classify cookies
- Necessary cookies: required for the Site to work and to remember your language choice and your cookie preference. They cannot be switched off and do not depend on your consent.
- Analytics cookies: help us measure in aggregate how the Site is used. Off by default; enabled only if you allow them.
- Media and marketing: off by default; enabled only if you allow them.
3. Cookies and storage keys used on the Site
The list below shows the items actually used on the Site. Where a duration could not be verified independently, this is stated plainly.

- leopati_language (cookie and local storage) — Leopati (first party). Category: necessary. Purpose: remembers an explicit language choice so the language prompt is not shown again. Duration: 1 year.
- leopati_consent — Leopati (first party). Category: the record of your cookie preference. Purpose: stores which optional categories you allowed. Duration: 182 days.
- _ga and _ga_XVG76KCCND — Google Analytics 4. Category: analytics. Purpose: distinguishes visitors and sessions for aggregate traffic measurement. Created only when you allow the analytics category. Duration: depends on the provider and may change.
- litespeed_docref and litespeed_reloaded (session storage) — caching plugin (first party). Category: necessary. Purpose: an internal record of the page cache. Duration: for the session only; removed when the tab is closed.
4. Technical operations that create no cookie
- Embedded videos: some videos on the Site are served through the privacy-focused youtube-nocookie.com infrastructure. No marketing or tracking cookie is placed on your device before playback begins. When you start playback, the provider may record the technical identifiers needed to stream the video.
- Performance measurement: the Site’s content delivery infrastructure sends a short performance beacon when a page loads, to measure loading speed. This creates no cookie and uses no local storage.
- Security verification: a verification service runs on the contact, question and review forms to check that a submission is not made by automated tools. During verification it sends browser and device signals to its provider; it is not used for advertising or tracking.
5. How to manage your preferences
In the cookie preferences window shown on your first visit you can accept or decline the optional categories. You can change your choice at any time through the “Manage privacy preferences” link in the footer of every page. Declining the optional categories does not prevent you from using the Site.
You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings. If you block necessary cookies, functions such as remembering your language choice and your cookie preference may not work.
